My grandparents immigrated from Ireland, which comes with quite a colorful story. My dad was the youngest of 10 children and most of my family is from Sligo, in the west of Ireland above Galway. Additionally, I went to college in Ireland and forever I will feel “Erin Go Bragh,” which in Gaelic, the native tongue of Ireland, means “Ireland Forever.”
The simple classic print spells out the “Irish“ in classic Celtic font. If you are not familiar with that, that is the historic Irish font. In addition to being used in the ancient Celtic language, it is currently used to identify Ireland and Irish-heritage or themed content. We purposely designed this print so that you can wear it all year long in addition to St. Patrick’s Day, which is March 17 each year. All of my sighted friends cannot wait to buy this – it is classic and beautiful!
The font is in 3D tactile classic Irish green ink and below each letter is the letter in 3D tactile Irish green braille. We also added glow-in-the-dark ink because just in case you're at a pub and want to get a bit o’ attention, we thought that would be fun!
Now remember, the glow in the dark ink has to be held up to a light source before you wear it. It will continue to glow for about four hours, and if you’re in a lighted situation, it will just continue to glow as long as you’re around light. If you stick it in the drawer and want to wear it later, hold it in front of a lamp or light source for about three minutes prior to wear and it will recharge.
The print is on the back of the zip hoodie. We used our tactile ink on this, so remember to wash inside out. The ink becomes more tactile the more you wash the garment and the cotton fluffs up.
This is a classic full zip hoodie with two pockets on the front and a drawstring, full zip hood. The sleeves and the bottom are banded. These zip hoodies come in unisex sizing youth small through large, adult small through five XL, and tall large through three XL.
It is made from cotton/poly heavyweight fleece. Please zip closed and wash inside out. It's okay to tumble dry in a hot dryer to make it nice and fluffy as long as it is zipped closed and inside out.
