Losing Central Vision and Missing Hot Cocoa
Yesterday I was looking for some Swiss Miss Sugar Free Hot Cocoa and I opened the cabinet and I was surprised because there wasn’t any Swiss Miss in there. So, I went to the next cabinet and found another kind of hot cocoa. Imagine my shock today when I opened the original cabinet and I actually saw the box of Swiss Miss.
The deal is that I have very limited central vision left; t’s only about 10 percent of what normal central vision would be. Sometimes, if my eyes are shifted at a certain angle, something that is right in front of me doesn’t exist - I can’t see it. The item, person, whatever it is, doesn’t register. It just shows up as blank. However, once my eyes are shifted at the right angle, BAM, it’s there. It’s a little weird, but that’s how it works for me. Life with retinitis pigmentosa.
